About Us

Bergsen has been a metals distributor of cold finished carbon steel across Southern California since 1974.

Founded by industry veterans Bob Bergquist and Lou Spitsen, Bergsen began as a cold finished carbon steel distributor. They launched the company in Downey, California, naming it “Bergsen” and quickly gained a reputation for reliability and quality.

In 1986, Bergsen adapted to market changes by offering broken bundle services for greater customer flexibility. In 1987, Kiveton Park Holdings LTD acquired Bergsen, allowing us to add more product lines and introduce saw cutting services.

Beginning in 2005, we introduced next-day local deliveries to meet our customers’ growing demand for quick turnaround times. After relocating in 2006, we expanded our product range to include stainless steel and aluminum for aerospace and commercial industries.
